Alright, guys, let’s talk about what I did today. I got my hands dirty trying to remake a Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119G-001, the original order. You know, that really fancy watch everyone’s been talking about.
First off, I started by digging around for info on this watch. It is a classic style. I checked out some websites, like Chrono24, where they sell all sorts of luxury watches. I found out that the 6119G-001 is a 39mm white gold piece, pretty slick if you ask me. And it’s not waterproof, just up to 3 ATM, so don’t go swimming with it.
Then I got into the details. This watch has a manual winding movement, which is kind of old school but cool. I read that it’s got this guilloched hobnail pattern, also known as Clous de Paris. Sounds fancy, right? It’s a detail that Patek Philippe added to give the Calatrava a fresh look, and they also made the diameter a bit bigger.

My Remake Attempt
So, I decided to try and remake it. Of course, I’m not using real gold or anything, just trying to get the look and feel right. I started with the case, trying to mimic that 39mm size and the white gold look. Let me tell you, it’s not easy.

After a lot of trial and error, I finally finished my remake. It’s not perfect, far from it, but it looks somewhat like the 6119G-001. At least from a distance. And I only spent a fraction of the price. I will continue to try to refine my remake version of this watch. Maybe I will success next time.
